I am delighted to be hosting a non-political Community Information and Advice Event on Friday 24th May 2024 from 10.00 a.m. -12.00 noon at The Strutts Centre, Derby Road, Belper, DE56 1UU.

The aim of the event is to provide advice and information from charities, businesses, health, leisure, financial, social, welfare, community, and voluntary groups plus many more.

The event is free to attend, and I would like to invite you to come along with family, friends and colleagues from my Mid Derbyshire constituency for a cuppa and a chat with the groups and organisations available on the day.

Due to several areas of my constituency experiencing severe flooding recently, the Environment Agency will be on hand to offer advice. In addition, the Citizens Advice Bureau will be in attendance to help to those who need it.

If you are a family member or friend acting as a carer, Derbyshire Carers Association will be offering support and advice to these members of the community.

The University of Derby's Student Legal Advice Centre will be available to offer free legal advice and assistance.

The aim of the Centre is to offer advice to those who cannot afford it on a range of topics including a Family Law Clinic, SEND Law clinic, Human Rights and Business Law for small businesses.

There will also be a range of other leisure organisations and Live Life Derbyshire, who specialise in a free lifestyle and wellbeing service, will be there to assist you with healthy living.

If you are no longer in full-time employment, you can investigate opportunities to participate in a range of learning, social and recreational activities with Belper U3A.
